āļø The Scoop on Hudson Weather
Itās a bit of a weather rollercoaster this week ā weāre kicking things off with some thunder and wrapping up with blue skies and sunshine. Basically, Mother Natureās doing her usual ādonāt pack away that jacket yetā routine.
Grab your umbrella (and maybe your sunglasses too). Hereās whatās coming to a sky near you:
- āļø Monday, May 5 ā High 66° / Low 49°
PM thunderstorms rolling through with a 69% chance of rain. (Might be a good night to stay in and guess the Mystery Movie at Regal.) - š§ļø Tuesday, May 6 ā High 59° / Low 49°
A soggy one with rain most of the day and temps dipping into the 50s. (Plan for puddles.) - ā
Wednesday, May 7 ā High 69° / Low 49°
Partly cloudy with just a 15% chance of rain. (Basically, the weather equivalent of a shrug.) - š¤ļø Thursday, May 8 ā High 62° / Low 43°
Cloudy morning giving way to sunshine later on. (Hold tight ā brighter skies ahead.) - āļø Friday, May 9 ā High 67° / Low 45°
Sunny and gorgeous with almost no chance of rain. (Get those lunch plans on a patio.)
Wrap-up? Itās a little wet early in the week, but things dry out just in time for the weekend. Hang in there ā the sun is on the way! š

š 25 Years of Giving: Hudson Community Foundation Hits a Milestone
A standing ovation is in orderāHudson Community Foundation is celebrating 25 years of making our hometown a better place to live, learn, and give.
What started in 2000 with a small but mighty group of volunteers (shoutout to Phil Tobin and Bill Wooldredge) has grown into a powerhouse of generosity. Back then, they kicked things off with 25 donor-advised funds. Today? Over 200. And $36.2 million in assets.
The mission hasnāt changed: connect donors to the causes they care about and strengthen life in Hudson. From mental health services in our schools to drug-free clubs, historic preservation to senior supportāthe foundation has touched nearly every corner of the community.
They run two grant cycles each year and just last year, awarded over $50,000 to local nonprofits. And if youāve ever thought about starting a fund of your own, they make it simpleāwhether youāre supporting something local or a cause close to your heart across the country.
To mark the 25th anniversary, theyāve got a few things up their sleeve: a special community grant program (details coming soon) and their annual gala on September 13.
If you want to learn more or explore starting a fund, visit myhcf.org. And to Amy Jordan, the board, and every volunteer past and presentāHudson says thank you. Youāve made a difference. Here's to the next 25! š„

š Roll Hud Recap
š„ Boysā Lacrosse Rolls Through the Weekend
The Explorers were on a mission this weekendāand they absolutely delivered. On Saturday, they hosted St. Francis DeSales and walked away with a dominant 16ā4 win. The scoreboard wasnāt the only thing lighting upāall three goalies got time in the net, giving us a look at Hudsonās defensive future. Senior Cooper Lewis, sophomore Jack Sutton, and freshman Ethan Hall each held it down between the pipes, proving that the goalie depth chart is in very good hands.
Then on Sunday, Hudson kept the momentum going with a 16ā3 victory over Springboro in a total team effort. Crisp passing, smart transitions, and solid defenseāthis squad is hitting its stride.
Next up? Solon comes to town Tuesday night. If youāre looking for a high-energy game on home turf, this is it.
Letās go, Explorers! š„šŖ

š Game 1 Goes to the Pacers ā But This Series Is Just Getting Started
The Cavs kicked off Round 2 of the playoffs last night (Sunday) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse⦠and letās just say the Pacers showed up ready. Cleveland fell 121ā112 in Game 1, despite another monster performance from Donovan Mitchell, who dropped 33 points and made playoff history (thatās eight straight Game 1s with 30+ ā the most ever, passing some guy named Michael Jordan š).
Indiana came in hot, with five players in double digits and some red-hot shooting from beyond the arc. Weāre talking 52.8% from three. Meanwhile, the Cavs struggled from deep, hitting less than 24% of their shots from long range ā and felt the absence of Darius Garland, who sat this one out with a toe injury.
Not the start we hoped for, but thereās plenty of basketball left. Here's the rest of the schedule:
- š Game 2: Tomorrow (Tuesday), May 6 at 7:00 PM
- š Game 3: Friday, May 9 at 7:30 PM
- š Game 4: Sunday, May 11 at 8:00 PM
- š Game 5: Tuesday, May 13 ā Time TBD (if necessary)
- š Game 6: Thursday, May 15 ā Time TBD (if necessary)
- š Game 7: Sunday, May 18 ā Time TBD (if necessary)

Clevelandās not done ā and neither are we. Letās go, Cavs. š„šŖ
